Plot G Castlefield, Manchester

Plot G Castlefield, is a potential development plot lying within the Castlefield basin.

It is proposed to develop the site to provide a number of unique apartments and as part of the risk mitigation strategy, RoC Consulting were engaged to undertake a site constraints assessment.

No development has taken place within the basin area since 1990’s when an extensive regeneration programme commenced. High contingency risk items within the cost plan, were utility connectivity contamination and below obstructions.

We therefore undertook a desk top review of all available archive information, which enabled us to identify potential contamination hotpots, relic foundations which pose an obstruction risk to foundation construction.

Having deducted the site’s existing drainage we were able to provide an outline drainage strategy.

This work informed the contingency risk items to be refined.
