The RoC team covered 22km/ 14 miles with over 750m / 250 feet of ascent. The route started in Edale in the Peak District then climbed steeply up onto the southern edge of Kinder Scout, the Peak District’s highest plateau at over 600m / 2000ft.  The team’s first summit was Grindslow Knoll at 601 / 1972 feet.  The route progressed along Kinder’s southern gritstone edge, passing the Woolpacks and Noe Stool; names given to some of the many rock clusters on the plateau’s edge. The second and highest summit was Kinder Low at 633m / 2077 feet.  From there the route left Kinder Scout, crossing  the head of the valley and  passing Jacob’s ladder on the Pennine Way.  A high path over moorland habitat passed a third summit of Brown Knoll 569m / 1867 feet.  The route then ascended onto Rushop Edge and The Great Ridge who’s with a final steep summit of Mam Tor at 517m  /1696 feet – the final climb of the day. The group walked a section of the Great Ridge to Hollins Cross before descending  back into Edale Village to complete their days circuit.
