TATTU Restaurant & bar is located in the heart of Spinningfields, Manchester. Tattu takes inspiration from body art and its rich history, inviting guests on a sensory journey from east to west, delivering a unique dining experience.
The restaurant offers contemporary Chinese cuisine and the bar provides an intimate atmosphere with an extensive cocktail menu.
RoC Consulting was appointed as structural engineers by Tattu, due to our previous experience within the bar and restaurant sector.
We worked on the concept design with Edwin Design, AEW Architects and produced a design that met the client’s brief in terms of quality, budget and high interior design standard.
Challenges/SolutionsOne of our challenges was to provide a new concrete mezzanine level floor within the existing shell unit. As the floor had to be supported at its extremities without any mid span columns, we utilised a lightweight structural concrete deck solution. We developed an innovative design for the walkway bridge structure which added the ‘wow’ factor to the space and provided a pathway for essential building services across the restaurant.
